Camp Zebra is a ‘semi-mobile’ camp which follows the Great Wildebeest Migration around the Serengeti National Park. From the beginning of June until the middle of July, it is located in the Central Serengeti area, close to the perennial waters of the Sero River where enormous herds of animals congregate year around. These animals which include Lions, Leopards, Cheetah and Elephants to name but a few make for some exciting game viewing experiences. This is also the time of year when the Wildebeest herds are making their way from the South to the North of the Serengeti and they are also expected to be in this area.
‘Camp Zebra’ consists of 6 accommodation tents, each of which can be used for single, double (or twin) or triple occupancy. Each sleeping tent consists of a verandah, bedroom area, dressing area and ensuite shower and flush toilet. As an added convenience, each tent is supplied with electricity for lighting as well as for charging mobile telephones, cameras, tablets, laptop computers or any other electronic devices you may carry with you. This electricity is harvested from the sun’s rays via a solar system. Camp Zebra also has a family tent which comprises a verandah, private lounge, two bedrooms (each of which can be set up as singles, doubles or triples), two dressing areas and two separate ensuite toilets and showers.
The camp is well laid out to include both a lounge tent as well as a dining tent. Evenings are spent around the all-important camp fire enjoying drinks and snacks whilst exchanging stories about the day’s events and making plans for the day ahead.
The main emphasis of the activities available at Camp Zebra is the viewing of the extraordinary Wildebeest migration which is one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Africa" as well as the single largest mass movement of animals on the planet. That said, there are many other forms of wildlife and birdlife which can be viewed during the course of game drives and these are further enhanced by some of the most spectacular nature to be seen anywhere on the African continent.
